Tetmoth Images

To start things off, Tetmoth is a big project of mine. It’s another world from ours, teeming with life much like that on Earth. The sentient beings on this world are the wolf-like Luka. Because of a worldwide catastrophe early in the world’s history, much of the planet surface was rendered uninhabitable, and the Luka families of the time were separated from each other, eventually adapting apart from each other into six sub-races: the Cetu, the Kinthar, the Kunle, the Migantha, the Moffa, and the Servani. The only Lukas that retained their original form are the six immortal guardians, the Lukavin, who watch over the Luka, advising them when they can, and intervening in their disputes when necessary.

The races

In the image above is a generalization of how a Luka ages. Top left to bottom right is Infant, Child, Adolescent, Adult, Mature Adult, and Elder. Lukas are born with spots on their heads and on their chests. As they grow, these spots begin to fade. The head spots fade entirely as they enter their adolescents. By the time they reach adulthood, the spots disappear entirely. Of course, from there, their fur grows coarse and shaggy as the body begins to degrade.

The Luka race, as mentioned above, was divided into six sub-races. They all appear in this image.

In the center is the original Luka. White, medium hair coat. All the Luka males share the black nose, and sometimes black tipped ears or a stripe along the spine. Females are unmarked.

Top left is the Moffa, a playful and energetic race. They live in a savannah and plains regions of Tetmoth. A Moffa’s brown fur is thin, except for its dark mane running from the top of its head along the spine to the base of its tail. Its elbows also have a tuft of fur, as does the end of its tail. The fur on the underside is light colored, or cream. The brush-tipped tail and the male Moffa’s markings are all a pale brown, or tan. Male Moffas, because of their mane have no distinguishable stripe marking along the spine.

Top Center is the Kunle, tree climbers and intellectuals. They live in forests for the most part, or wooded areas. A Kunle is dark or reddish brown with darker stripes, and a brush ring- tail. They have long fur, especially coming off the cheeks. A distinguishing feature of the Kunle is its dark mask across the eyes.

Top right is the Kinthar who live in rugged regions and mountain slopes. They are one of the more aggressive races, but a self-imposed code of honor keeps them in check. A Kinthar’s fur is brown or dark brown aside from its cream underside and the mask around its face.

Bottom left is the Servani, determined survivalists. They live near deserts, commonly, usually in large families. A Servani’s fur is yellow with brown spots, and a ringed tail.

Bottom center is the Migantha, a reclusive race. They tend to live deep in jungles, dark forests, or wetlands. A Migantha is usually dark in color, or black, with a lighter underside and a tipped tail. The male’s markings are also lighter in color.

Bottom right is the Cetu. They live in the southern arctic region of Tetmoth. Their fur is light-gray, or white, with black “socks”, black tipped tail, and a black mask across their eyes.

Artwork

The images below are just ideas. Most of them I may not even implement in the story, but are interesting nonetheless.

This is an older image, one that I originally colored with pencils. The glowing moon effect is much more apparent with Photoshop’s help.

Here, you see two Lukavin who are about to enter a Migantha controlled forest.  It’s clear from the Migantha’s expressions that they don’t want visitors.

This is a picture of a young Servani female, perplexed by the lizard in front of her.

Here’s a pair of Lukas I drew a while ago. I never decided if they were related or not, but I thought it was cute.

Same characters, different situation…

The original image I have for this has no frame. I made the frame with Photoshop as a little gift for someone.

Once again: Same characters, different situation…

Before I got Photoshop, I experimented by coloring with paint. It didn’t come out badly, but Photoshop is much easier.

I enjoy comic humor, and who doesn’t? Ideas like this just hit me, and I can’t help myself.

As my sister said about this: “It’s certainly a guy’s solution.”

Now this image has a connection deeper in the story. Obviously, the one in the background has a lab, and he makes things there. Apparently, he has too much time on his paws.

The Lukavin were there at the beginning. And here’s how it went with the first Lukas…

I couldn’t resist, and neither could he, apparently.

Pencil-Colored Art

These images are colored with colored pencils. Though they don’t have the luster of the Photoshop coloring I’ve done, it does manage to get the point across.

A Kinthar overlooking the valley where his family is.

An adult and a child, at night. If you look closely, maybe you can see the two crescent moons smeared in the background.

A Moffa, before I decided they had manes.

Migantha, fishing.

A Servani family.

I listed these as Lukavin. At first, I only had two. But then I had one for each race. I think she likes him.

Some color tests for the Kunle. The orange is kinda nifty.

Moffas, playing a game. Once again, no manes.

I think they’re glad to see him.

Once again, this goes deeper into the story than I’m letting on. But it is funny. Did I mention that the Lukavin were humans from Earth?

Now, this one was a stretch. If you don’t get it, oh well.

Old Artwork

These are some of the original concepts I had, some of them before I merged all the sub-races into one race. Their general mannerisms I maintained however.

These are the old Tetmoth races. If you don’t recognize them, the list is Moffa, Kinthar, Kunle, Servani, Cetu, and Migantha.

Rather old. This is each Lukavin with his charge. Perspective’s a bit off. Oh well…

Not only is this an old version of the Migantha, but it was colored badly. I was working on a rough surface, I suppose.

Two Kinthar pictures. They were rather martial, and still are a bit, in my mind.

An old version of the Lukavin’s first encounter with an old version of the Kinthar.
